Now we arrive here June 2011.... they are back with a vengence. We were landscaping and found one in an old deer stand. BTW at biggerdirt landscaping involves tractors, wood piles with fire, and dirt. The goal is to rid the area of vines and old wood (this is where these critters live). That was no big deal. UNTIL Saturday when Corbin was in the PANTRY looking for a snack. "Hey I see a bad black spider ya'll" I almost ignored him because surely they wouldn't be in the pantry. Brian saw it and went for the broom, SHE ran and hid in the ziploc box. After throwing half the food out of the pantry she was found alive to show all children including a friend sleeping over these are really bad. Then we go on a hunt. Stripping all bed sheets, turning over beds, turning over all outdoor stuff, spraying everywhere. Brian found three live ones in Corbin's ride-on tractor, others in various places, and then the poor bugman is being harassed again. He came yesterday and fogged (didn't know they did this) the yard and sprayed inside. The boys and I set out this morning to make sure they were all dead. WHATEVER!!! That's when I took this picture. This was one of four that were not dead. Ugh....the total is somewhere around 15 black widows. I would love any suggestions. I'm almost ready to move for the summer. Most importantly, please pray for protection of our kids. I'm very worried for their safety. I realize fear is not of the Lord. But, I have almost been consumed by it on this subject. We LOVE playing outside, but don't want to play with these.

Oh.my.word. I've never seen one of those in real life and you're finding them in your house!!! EEEK! We deal with brown recluse spiders all the time but widows are a whole different level! I will surely be praying for protection for you and your littles!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG...I would be freaking out! I think I would have been out of there. Anyway, praying for protection for your family and praying that you don't find anymore. I know God created all things for a purpose, but what on earth are they good for?
